The thin ACON On Call GK 2-in-1 blood ketone test strips have a chemical reagent system and are used to determine the level of blood β-ketones. First, blood is applied at the end of the strip and then it is absorbed by the strip. A reaction is now produced in a reaction cell in which an electric current is formed. The concentration of β-ketones can ultimately be determined on the basis of this flow and the result can also be seen on the screen of the meter.

The ACON On Call GK 2-in-1 Blood Ketone Test Strips are intended for outdoor testing only. For professionals it is possible to test venous blood samples. When using test strips by caregivers or for home use, only measurements of the β-ketones in the blood are performed in the finger.
